ALBANY – As a result of the inclement weather throughout much of New York State, Governor Andrew Cuomo Monday declared a state of emergency. The State of Emergency was in effect for not only Chautauqua County, but also all other counties in Western New York.
Besides declaring the state of Emergency, the Governor also announced that parts of the New York State Thruway would be closed due to extreme winter weather conditions. The area of the thruway that was closed was from Buffalo south to the state line in Pennsylvania.
