JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce is partnering again this year with Der Kobblers Automobile Association to present Jamestown Cruise-In, Friday, Aug. 16. The event will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. along Third Street between Washington and Spring Streets. Regional collectors of classic cars, hot rods and special vehicles will display their cars and trucks.
Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce Coordinator Joanna Dahlbeck said, “We invite all car collectors to participate and show off their cars. This is the 27th year for this event, and it has attracted a wide variety of vehicles each year, from antique autos to souped-up classics to high end contemporary cars.”
Downtown businesses are encouraged to offer specials for the evening, and a number of street vendors will also be on hand from local businesses and organizations with snacks and merchandise for sale. Kids can get balloon sculptures and take part in the hula hoop and bubblegum contests. Live music by local favorite band The In Crowd will keep the party going.
Jamestown Cruise-In is proudly sponsored by Ahlstrom Schaeffer Electric, Jamestown Renaissance Corporation, LiteHouse Auto, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Elegant Edibles Catering, Five Star Bank, and Lake Shore Paving.
Cars can be pre-registered online through the Chamber’s calendar of events at www.chautauquachamber.org or can register on site. All vehicle registrations are $10. All cars must enter the Cruise-In at the corner of Third and Spring Streets, with check-in beginning at 4 p.m. Third Street will be closed starting at 3 p.m for set up.
All are invited to stroll through downtown and enjoy this free event.
