JAMESTOWN – A local youth arts organization is encouraging the community to help in its effort to move a larger facility.
Last month, Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc announced that it would be moving to a new location in downtown Jamestown. The relocation to the Lynn Building at 301 E. 2nd St. will provide the organization with nearly twice as much space, which officials say is essential to help address the ever-increasing number of students enrolling in the organization.
As a result, Infinity is reaching out to the community to pitch in and offer help by announcing the ‘Create a Home for Infinity’ campaign. The campaign will run from now until January 2015 with an overall fundraising goal of $225,000. The first portion of the campaign, seeking funding from local and regional foundations and other organizations, is already under way.
From now until September 10, 2014, donors can visit the popular crowdsourcing website IndieGoGo.com and make a financial donation in any amount of their choosing. Different rewards and incentives will be provided based on the amount of the donation. A goal of $25,000 has been set for the IndieGoGo portion of the campaign.
An official campaign kick off reception will also take place this Friday inside the Infinity Café and the public is invited to stop by and learn more.
Anyone wishing to learn more about the relocation project or wanting to offer help is invited to contact Infinity by calling (716) 664-0991 or by visiting www.infinityperformingarts.org.
