JAMESTOWN – The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is asking the public to help give away $5,000 during its first ever #BigMatchDay.
Tuesday is known as #GivingTuesday across the country, when people are asked to take a break from the holiday shopping season and make a donation to a charity of their choice.
As part of #GivingTuesday, all donations received by the Community Foundation for local charities or established funds at the Foundation will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $25 per gift until the pool of $5,000 matching funds is exhausted.
All donations collected, and the matching funds, will be granted directly to the charitable organization, or fund, for immediate use.
Donations for #BigMatchDay will be accepted in person at the Foundation, by credit card on its secure website, or over the phone between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on November 29.
The Community Foundation is located at 418 Spring Street in Jamestown. For more information regarding #BigMatchDay, and official rules for participation, contact the Foundation at (716) 661-3390 or visit crcfonline.org.
