JAMESTOWN – The Chautauqua County Baseball Umpires Association (CCBUA) has teamed up with the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena and the Jamestown Cycle Shop to “Strike Out Cancer.” The week-long fundraiser is scheduled for April 21 through April 26 in an effort to help raise awareness towards breast and prostate cancer.
Throughout the week, during their regular scheduled games, high school teams and umpires make a monetary donation to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Those that contribute will receive light blue and/or pink wristbands, donated by the Cycle Shop, to be sported during their games.
Strike Out Cancer Week concludes at Russell Diethrick Park where high school teams will take the field Friday night and all day Saturday. For a full list of teams participating and their game times, contact Jonathan Bilinski at jj.bilinski@jamestownarena.com or (716) 484-2624.
