ALBANY – Chautauqua County will be getting $200,000 in funding to help support counter-terrorism and emergency preparedness activities.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced earlier this week than more than $233 million in federal grants will be split up among counties throughout the state. The funding is provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through its Homeland Security Grant Program.
It will be used to support regional preparedness efforts, including planning, organization, and training activities that are critical to sustaining and improving community prevention, protection, response, and recovery capabilities.
Cattaraugus County will also receive $160,000 from the fund.
