MAYVILLE – Three additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported for Chautauqua County for Tuesday, Jan. 5.
That’s according to the Chautauqua County Department of Health, which reported on its COVID-19 dashboard Wednesday that the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the county is now at 39. The latest deaths involved an individual in their 50s and two people in their 80s.
In addition, there were 113 new cases of COVID-19 reported.
The total number of active cases in the county as of Tuesday was 651, 29 fewer than the 680 that was reported for Monday. In addition, there were 49 hospitalizations reported, two fewer than what had been reported the day earlier. The 7-day test positivity rate was at 12.2%, an increase of 1.4% over Monday’s rate.
According to the county health department, there’s been a total of 4,309 COVID-19 cases in the county since March, with 3,619 of them listed as recovered. There’s also been 39 deaths.
