MAYVILLE – A federally funded health center providing services for the under-served members of the Chautauqua County could soon be opening in Chautauqua County’s South County Office Building in downtown Jamestown.
The Chautauqua County Legislature’s Human Services Committee met this week, with members approving a resolution to authorize a lease agreement with The Chautauqua Center, which was recently given $700,000 in federal funding to expand services in the south county. The center already provides services to residents in the Dunkirk area.
Approximately 3,688 square feet of clinical space would be leased to the center at a cost of $6,000 per month. The term of the lease is from Aug. 1, 2015 to July 31, 2017.
The full legislature will act on the lease proposal during its monthly voting session on Wednesday, June 24.
The grant will ultimately be used for the Chautauqua Center to construct a new medical facility in Jamestown.
