The Chautauqua County Legislature will hold its monthly voting session Wednesday Night with a fairly light agenda.
Among the items on the agenda is a local law to legalize the sale and use of sparklers in the county. Currently the products are categorized as fireworks and as a result are illegal. However a recent state law gives counties the choice to legalize sparklers.
The legislature will also consider a resolution allowing Jamestown Community College to sell the Sheldon House to the Lynn Development Group. As one of three hosting municipality of the college the county is required to review and give permission before the sale can be finalized. Both Jamestown and Cattaraugus Counties have already given their approval.
Wednesday’s meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
