MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello will present his first spending plan when the Chautauqua County Legislature meets tonight in Mayville.
In advance of the spending plan, Borrello said his goals are to create a budget that is structurally balanced, stays under the New York State mandated tax cap, does not increase the property tax rate, and maintains our current level of services.
After Borrello presents his budget, county legislators will begin their review of it by meeting with department heads and determining if any additional modifications are needed.
They will then need to pass a final budget for 2019 on or before Dec. 1.
The County Legislature meets tonight at 6:30 in the Legislative Chambers of the Gerace Office Building, 3 North Erie St. in Mayville. The meeting is open to the public and a live stream will also be provided on the county’s Facebook page.
Copies of the 2019 Tentative Budget Presentation and the Chautauqua County 2019 Tentative Budget will be available online by September 30.
