MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Democratic Chair Norman Green says the Democratic Party is looking for candidates to take on Republican incumbents in the November General Election.
Green said the party is looking for opponents to take on Republicans Cathy Young in the State Senate and Andy Goodell in the Assembly.
Green said that while Young is doing a good job representing her district in the State Senate, every office holder should be opposed in a healthy democracy.
Meanwhile, Green said that Goodell, who’s currently serving his third term in the lower chamber, has failed to deliver tangible results for the district, which covers all of, and only, Chautauqua County.
Green said the Democratic Committee is in conversation with several candidates wanting to run against Goodell, but also welcome all who want to be interviewed.
Democrats are also seeking candidates in southern Chautauqua County for Busti Town Justice, Sherman Town Justice, two Bemus Point Village Trustees, two Celoron Village Trustees, and a Mayville Village Trustee.
