MAYVILLE – The double murder trial of Davide Coggins of Elmira will continue on Tuesday in Chautauqua County Court.
According to an article in the Post-Journal, on Friday Joshua McCormick – one of the three co-defendants in the case – took the stand and testified against Coggins, offering details on what happened on April 16 and April 17 2013, when the four men allegedly drove from Elmira to Chautauqua County to burglarize the home of Gordon and Joyce Skinner. The couple was found murdered in their home on Wheeler Hill Rd. the morning of April 17.
McCormick, along with fellow co-defendants Steven Todd and Ricky Knickerbocker – have each reached plea deals with the district attorney’s office in exchange for testifying against Coggins – who investigators say was the mastermind of the crime.
The trial will continue Tuesday at 9 a.m.
