JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Zoning Board of Appeals will meet Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 3) at City Hall for a public hearing dealing with two variance requests.
On request is for a use variance to construct a 40’ x 40’ office building with a gravel parking lot and an area for outdoor storage of materials (gravel, sand, brick, stone, clean fill dirt) at 428 Livingston Ave., on a parcel owned by Ronald Mazany in an L-M Zone. The open storage of construction materials is not permitted in the L-M District.
Another petition deals with a use variance to operate a single seat tattoo salon, Monday through Sunday, by appointment only, from 2 to 10 p.m., at Karma Salon, 151 Hallock Street. The property is owned by Joseph Van Ord and is in an R-1 Zone. Current city code does not permit a tattoo parlor in an R-1 District.
No other items are on the agenda. The hearing will begin at 3:30 p.m. in in the Council Chambers of city hall. Anyone in favor of or against either variance request is invited to attend and speak.
