JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown woman faces traffic-related charges after she hit two bicyclists Saturday afternoon in the city.
Jamestown Police say 30 year-old Tanya Critzer was traveling east along W. Eight St. just before 12:30 p.m. when she crossed the center lane and struck two two bicyclists who were traveling westbound.
Critzer reportedly told officers that she was distracted by children in her vehicle and did not see the bikes coming in the opposite direction. Both victims, who’s names were not released, were taken to WCA Hospital via Alstar Ambulance, with one later flown by Starflight to the Erie County Medical Center. Both victims are expected to recover WRFA has learned that one has been released from the hospital while the other is still being treated at ECMC.
Critzer has been charged with failure to keep right and failure to use due care for a bicyclist. The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are possible.
