JAMESTOWN – City police have arrested three teenagers for their allegedly involvement in an armed robbery early Sunday morning.
City police say officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the area of Newton Avenue and Stowe Street at 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The incident took place as the victim was walking home from a friend’s house when the victim was confronted by three individuals, with one of them showing a gun. The three then took the victim’s cellphone and fled the scene.
After an investigation, officers were able to identify the three suspects involved in the incident. Police have identified the three as a 17 year-old female, a male 16 year-old and a male 15 year-old. Their names were not released.
Officers say the female was identified as allegedly threatening the victim with the handgun. It was revealed to be a pellet gun that had been stolen from a vehicle earlier in the evening.
Both the 17 year old and 16 year old suspects were transported to the Jamestown Police Department and face numerous charges related to robbery, larceny and possession of stolen property. The female was given an additional charge of menacing. The 15-year-old male as been petitioned to a family court.
