JAMESTOWN – Mayor Sam Teresi’s Joint Task Force on Efficiency and Cost Reduction will meet once again Monday to continue the discussion on identifying cost-saving measures for both city government and the board of public utilities.
Late last year, Teresi announced the creation of the panel, which includes members of the city council, BPU and members of both the city and BPU’s management team. The purpose is to take a closer look at several cost-saving measures that have been suggested in recent years by both the BPU and business community, as well as set up a policy and procedure for when it is appropriate for the BPU to provide dividend payments to the city during times when it runs a budget surplus.
Monday’s meeting will take place on the fourth floor of city hall in the mayor’s conference room. It begins at 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
