JAMESTOWN – Two Jamestown residents were arrested Tuesday afternoon following a traffic stop by city police that turned up 11 ounces of marijuana, along with a quantity of cocaine and crack cocaine.
Jamestown police say the stop took place in the area of 65 River St. at about 2 p.m. Inside the vehicle were 32 year-old Charles Washington and 18 year-old Mariah Snyder.
Snyder was allegedly found to be in possession of in small quantity of marijuana. A later investigation also found her in possession of 9 grams of cocaine and 6 grams of crack cocaine. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up 11 ounces of marijuana, drug packaging material and a digital scale.
Both were arrested on related charges and sent to the city jail to await arraignment.
