JAMESTOWN – Two Jamestown men were arrested early Wednesday morning on assault charges following an incident that took place in Brooklyn Square.
City police were called to an area near 10 S. Main Street at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday for a reported assault. Police say on arrival, one of the victims pointed to two individuals who were walking away from the area. When police attempted to talk with the two, they allegedly ran away on foot. Police say the two were eventually apprehended and identified as 19 year-old Ishmael Johnson and 21 year-old Michael Near II.
The two were arrested for two counts of assault and along with obstructing governmental administration and were sent to the city jail to await arraignment.
The victims were sent to WCA hospital for treatment of unidentified injuries.
