JAMESTOWN – Three people were arrested Monday night following a large fight near the downtown area of the city.
Jamestown police were called to 416 W. Sixth St. just after 8:30 p.m. Monday and found a group of 30 people in the area who were involved or had witnessed a large fight.
Officers say the group became disorderly while police were investigating the incident and one individual,19 year-old Karisha Tapia, allegedly refused to leave the area at the request of officers and instead is accused of punching an officer while being charged with obstruction. She was also charged with harassment after she allegedly spit in an officer’s face.
Police also say two male teenagers at the scene are accused of interfering with the arrest by jumping on officers and trying to hit them. All three were charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.
No other arrests were made in the incident.
