JAMESTOWN – Two Jamestown youths face charges after several items – including a semi-automatic rifle and a loaded hand gun – were reportedly stolen from local vehicles.
The Jamestown Police Department says an investigation was launched after numerous larcenies were reported in a five-block area in the city’s northside.
Police were able to make an arrest after one of the suspects attempted to use a stolen credit card at a local convenience store.
After receiving a search warrant, several of the items that were reported stolen were recovered by city police.
The names of the two youths are not being released by authorities.
Captain Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department is also advising residents to NOT keep firearms stored away in their vehicles at any time. People should also lock their vehicles at all times when they are parked, even if in their own driveways.
