JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man faces several charges, including drug possession and driving under the influence of drugs with a child in the vehicle, after a traffic stop Thursday night.
According to city police, on Thursday, Jan. 12 at around 8:15 p.m. JPD officers stopped a vehicle in the area of W. Eleventh St. near N. Main St. for several alleged vehicle and traffic violations.
An investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, 31-year-old Felix Rodriguez Gomez of Jamestown was allegedly operating the vehicle under the influence of narcotics with a 13-year old passenger in the vehicle. Rodriguez Gomez was transported to Jamestown City Jail where it was determined that he was allegedly in possession of a large amount of heroin that was packaged consistent with trafficking.
Rodriguez Gomez is currently awaiting arraignment and is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd degree, DWAI Drugs, Felony Aggravated DWI (Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and numerous vehicle and traffic law violations.
