JAMESTOWN – A city man faces charges related to kidnapping, assault, and criminal mischief after he allegedly held a female captive for more than two days on the West side of the city.
Jamestown Police Department say 31-year-old Joshua Turybury is accused of holding a female victim against her will at his apartment at 66 McDaniel Ave. The incident occurred between early Friday morning and early Sunday morning, when she reportedly escaped.
Police said that Turybury and the victim knew each other and she had initially went to his apartment on voluntarily, but was then held against her will and restrained. Police said the victim sustained severe bruising, a broken nose and a chipped tooth while being subjected to mental, verbal and physical abuse.
Turybury was located at his residence Sunday and arrested. He was arraigned Monday in Jamestown City Court.
