JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man is in police custody after allegedly fleeing from police while riding a dirt bike.
Jamestown Police say shortly afternoon on Thursday, a police officer observed a dirt bike being operated on Washington St. at a high rate speed, weaving through traffic.
The officer allegedly attempted to stop the driver, identified as Fermin Rodriguez Robles, but he instead fled the area.
After a short time later, Robbles was located on W 18th St. and he was taken into custody on several charges, including unlawful fleeing police, reckless operation, speeding, driving on a sidewalk, riding without a helmet, and several other violations.
He is currently awaiting arraignment in the city jail.
