JAMESTOWN – Jamestown police have arrested a city man on several charges after an investigation into the well being of children late Wednesday morning at the Appleyard Terrace apartment complex on E. 2nd Street.
City police say officers were called to Apt. 107 at 633 E. 2nd Street at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday to check the well being of two children possibly being taken care of by adults using narcotics. When officers gained entry into the apartment they allegedly found four adults and two children inside the home. A further search allegedly turned up several hypodermic needles in a bathroom.
One of the adults in the apartment was Shane R. Eshbach, a Jamestown resident whose age was not released in the police report. Officers say there is a valid order of protection for Eshbach to stay away from the address. He was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, 1st degree Criminal Contempt, Aggravated Family Offense, and Obstructing Governmental Administration. Eshbach was sent to the city jail to await arraignment.
No other arrests were reported by police.
