JAMESTOWN – A city man is in the county jail for possession of several illegal fire arms.
City police were sent to the lower apartment at 33 Broadhead Ave. on New Year’s Day to respond to what has only been described as a “suspicious situation.” Officers say they discovered an open door and when looking into the apartment they discovered possible weapons inside. After receiving a search warrant, officers discovered multiple handguns, two of which were loaded as well as a quantity of ammunition.
The apartment belonged to 26-year-old William Mischishima. He was charged felony criminal possession of a firearm, 4th degree Criminal Possessions of a Weapon, and 3 counts of Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices. Police add that more charges are also expected.
Police also say that due to the conditions in the apartment, the residence was condemned.
