MAYVILLE – A Jamestown man has reached a plea agreement with the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office in connection to a domestic violence case where he allegedly doused a woman with flammable material and set her on fire.
The Post-Journal say 38 year-old Luis Castro-Mojica agreed to plead guilty to first-degree assault during a recent appearance in Chautauqua County Court in Mayville.
Castro-Mojica was arrested in December 2017 following the incident that took place at a Thayer Street home in Jamestown.
He had been in Chautauqua County Jail on $1 million cash bail since his arraignment.
The female victim was taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo where she remained in critical condition for an extended time.
Castro-Mojica will be sentenced on Feb. 25.
A person convicted of first-degree assault faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
