JAMESTOWN – Jamestown firefighters are continuing their investigation into a fire that occurred Friday afternoon at the home where a grizzly double homicide occurred just one month earlier.
Jamestown Fire crews were called to the scene at 235 Barrows Street about 3:15 p.m. Friday and found heavy fire coming through the front door and two first-floor windows. Crews had the blaze under control in about 10 to 15 minutes and damage was confined to the first floor of the vacant structure.
The home is the location where 51 year-old Allen Witruke allegedly killed his wife and step son during an incident on Dec. 8. Witruke is being held in the county jail until his case goes to court. He faces murder charges in the case.
