JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown City Council will begin budget deliberations Monday night in city hall.
Last week Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi presented his $35.7 million executive budget, which calls for a 0.88 percent property tax increase and also includes a deficit of $947,000.
The city council is required to review and finalize the budget prior to adopting it before Dec. 1.
On Monday the council will meet with department heads form the city’s Department of Public Works, along with the Parks and Recreation departments to learn more about the specific details in each budget.
The budget hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. and the council’s regular work session begins at 7:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the mayor’s conference room, 4th floor of city hall, and will be open to the public.
