MAYVILLE – The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting that a Chautauqua Lake School District school bus driver, accused in an April 28 incident of endangering the welfare of a child passenger, has had his charge dismissed.
The article said 58 year-old Edward Farnsworth of Dewittville had his charge of child endangerment dismissed during a non-jury trial in Chautauqua County court.
According to his attorney, video evidence showed that Farnsworth followed correct procedure when dealing with an unruly child passenger.
Farnsworth was a substitute school bus driver who was suspended from the Chautauqua Lake Central School District shortly after being charged. He also reportedly lost his pistol license.
Chautauqua Lake Central School has not said whether or not he will return to the district to continue serving as a substitute bus driver.
