BUSTI – The superintendent of Chautauqua Lake Central School District has pleaded not guilty in court to a charge of driving while intoxicated.
In February 52 year-old Benjamin Spitzer was pulled over in the Town of Busti and arrested on a charge of DWI and DWI per se. On Tuesday he appeared in town court and entered his plea. Spitzer was released on his own recognizance and will reappear in Busti Justice Court on April 20.
The Chautauqua Lake School Board has said that it will wait for the legal process to play out before making an decisions regarding Spitzer’s employment with the school district.
