JAMESTOWN – The July board meeting for the Chautauqua Lake and Watershed Management Alliance will take place Thursday in downtown Jamestown.
In recent months the meetings have focused on the use of chemical herbicides in areas of Chautauqua Lake in order to reduce the amount of weeds in the water. Despite some members of the alliance being at odds with one another over the herbicide use, the Bemus Bay area of the lake was permitted to treat a restricted area with herbicide at the end of June. An update on that effort, as well as whether or not it will expand to other areas of the lake, could be discussed during today’s meeting.
Thursday’s meeting is at the BWB building on Third St. in Jamestown, 2nd floor conference room, at 4 p.m.
