JAMESTOWN – The Chautauqua County Humane Society will kickoff its fourteenth annual Pennies 4 Paws campaign today.
The annual campaign will benefit the animals at the humane society by raising money to help provide essential care and rehabilitation to animals in need of services offered by the humane society.
According to humane society community relations director Brian Papalia, the organization cares for an estimated 120 animals on any given day. In 2018, the humane society helped over 4,000 animals with a variety of needs including food, shelter, medical care, and training supplies.
This year Pennies 4 Paws campaign hopes to collect 1.5 million pennies, or $15,000, by the end of the campaign.
The humane society encourages schools, social organizations, individuals and businesses to fundraise in a variety of ways including bake sales, school hat days, dress down days, pop bottle/can drives and other special events. Collection containers are also available if they are needed by any fundraising group.
