The Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) is teaming up with WGRZ Channel 2 On Your Side to host the NBC/Universal Clear the Shelters annual nationwide pet adoption drive. CCHS will offer the public no-cost adoptions on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to find new homes for homeless pets.
Cats supplied by CCHS to both the Erie, PA and Lakewood, NY Petsmart locations will also have adoption fees waived from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 17th.
CCHS Community Relations Director Brian Papalia said “This year we are also doing something new. Beginning Monday, August 12 we will be offering half price adoptions leading up to Clear the Shelters. If there is a pet you have been keeping an eye on, this will be your chance to come in and get that specific animal at a reduced price. Things get pretty busy, and animals do tend to go quickly on the Saturday of Clear the Shelters.”
