JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting that the Chautauqua Center health center will soon open in Jamestown.
Earlier this month, Chautauqua Center received a Federal grant for $702,667 through United States Health Resources and Services Administration.
The grant is designed to provide critical access to quality healthcare for residents in rural areas. The Chautauqua Center already serves the Dunkirk area, but is looking to expand its operation to assist residents living in the south county.
The Chautauqua Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing family medicine and wellness outpatient services to individuals of all ages.
According to today’s article in the Post-Journal, the center will serve more than 4,500 patients by its second year.
A location has been selected for the facility but until a deal is finalized, officials are holding off on announcing where it will be located. However, it is expected to open by August of this year.

The Chautauqua Center is terrible!! I was on a waiting list for 3 months and 23 days to get in to see a doctor! Camelle who is in charge of the intake said she tried contacting me at the beginning of May and left a voicemail! I never got a call or a voicemail. I’ve tried contacting her several times because I’ve been waiting so long. My insurance company even started contacting her and I talked to her towards the end of May and she said I was number four. Finally after waiting a couple more months I started contacting her last week and finally got ahold of her today and that doctor is no longer available!! So, almost 4 months of waiting I still don’t get to see the doctor I wanted to see!!! This is total crap and now I’m screwed without seeing the doctor!!
