LEON – A Cassadaga woman has died after being involved in an accident Tuesday night in Cattaraugus County.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Lerlene Rumsey was driving along Mosher Hollow Road in Leon around 9 p.m. when her vehicle hit a horse that was being walked across the road. The vehicle then went into a ditch and rolled nearly three times, landing on its roof. Deputies say the driver was ejected.
Rumsey was pronounced dead at the scene and the investigation is continuing.
