CASSADAGA – Cassadaga Valley School District has appointed its new superintendent.
The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting Wednesday that Cassadaga Valley’s Board of Education has appointed Charles “Chuck” Leichner as the district’s new superintendent. He will officially be known as the superintendent/CEO for the Cassadaga Valley Central School District, effective Aug. 1, with a contract that runs through June 2017. Leichner’s salary for the 2014-15 school year will be $133,500.
Leichner currently lives in Fredonia, but grew up in Frewsburg. He’s currently serving as Forestville Central School superintendent.
Leichner will replace Tom Schmidt, who has served as acting Superintendent since November 2013 when previous superintendent Scott Smith stepped down from his post. Smith’s resigned following questions about his “interactions with another district employee.”
