BUFFALO – The former Jamestown Police officer who was arrested for making online threats against other members of the police department will spend a year in prison for his crime.
On Thursday the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo announced that 45 year-old Michael Bush of Jamestown was sentenced to 12 months in prison and three years’ supervised release in U.S. District Court.
The sentence came after Bush was convicted of transmitting communications containing threats to injure the person of another.
Bush was charged after an investigation was revealed he posted threats on Topix.com to kill Jamestown area law enforcement officers. The posts were made in January 2015 and again in February 2016. The threats were made after he had left the police force.
