JAMESTOWN – Tom Hanks stars in the Cold War thriller Bridge of Spies on May 9 at 7 p.m. at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts. Admission is $5.
A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, Bridge of Spies tells the story of James Donovan (Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on a near impossible mission to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. High stakes and suspense power a story inspired by true events that capture the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life. The film co-stars Best Supporting Actor Oscar-winner, Mark Rylance and was directed by Steven Spielberg.
Bridge of Spies is rated PG-13 and is 141 minutes long.
Greg Peterson of Robert H. Jackson Center will speak briefly before the movie to acknowledge special guest, Anthony Palermo. Palermo is the sole living member of the prosecution team depicted in the movie. The Center will conclude their Continuing Legal Education Spring Seminar – Security: The Next Frontier on May 10 at 8:30 a.m. Speakers include Mr. Palermo, Buffalo Sabres alums Martin Biron and Gerald Meehan and representatives from Phillips Lytle LLP.
