JAMESTOWN – Officers with the Jamestown Police Department have captured a Dunkirk man wanted in connection to a shooting that took place last weekend in the north county city.
According to a media release sent out Friday morning by the JPD, investigators received information late Thursday afternoon that subject – Montel Cooper – was hiding out in an apartment on N. Main St. in Jamestown. Investigators from the Jamestown Police Department and the New York State Police did check the N. Main St location and Cooper was taken into custody without incident. Cooper was transported to the city Jail and was later turned over to officers from the Dunkirk Police Department.
Cooper was wanted for several felony warrants stemming from an incident on April 5 in the city of Dunkirk where Cooper allegedly shot another subject at King and Main Streets.
