Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley says the death of Charles Baker, Jr. who died after being arrested by Jamestown Police on February 16, was the result of a drug overdose and is being ruled as accidental.
From the DA’s office:
“An Autopsy was performed at the Erie County Medical Examiners Office on February 18, 2013. A final Autopsy Report was issued following the receipt of a toxicology report on Mr.Baker. The cause of death was determined to be acute intoxication of two drugs and was determined to be accidental. The Autopsy Report noted ‘…very high (toxic/lethal) levels of cocaine and the narcotic drug tramadol in the blood.’ Based upon these findings the investigation into Mr. Baker’s death has been closed.”
Baker was reportedly tased by police while in their custody, leading to an investigation into his death.
