BEMUS POINT – A boater was sent to WCA hospital Tuesday due to burns he suffered from hot antifreeze.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the boater was near Bemus Point when his vessel experienced engine overheating problem. He attempted to fix the problem, and while doing so removed radiator cap which then sprayed hot antifreeze on him.
The boater, whose name is not being released, received multiple burns on his back, arms, and face.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Navigation Deputies and the Bemus Point Fire Department Rescue responded to the scene. The burn victim was transported by Bemus Point Fire Rescue to WCA Hospital to be treated. His current status has not been made public.
