MAYVILLE – Who will earn the title of “Best Tasting Drinking Water” in Chautauqua County for 2015? This will be decided on Saturday, May 16 at the Chautauqua Mall when drinking water from the public water systems that serve Frewsburg, Jamestown and Mayville will be available for the public to vote for which one they like best.
Voting will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
According to county health and human services director Christine Schuyler, the event coincides with National Drinking Water Week, which is an opportunity for the county to encourage the public to protect and conserve our drinking water – which is considered the most important resource we have.
The contest is co-sponsored by the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services, the County Water Works Association and the County Water Quality Task Force.
The public is encouraged to stop by the Chautauqua Mall this Saturday, sample each water, and cast a vote for the “best tasting water” in Chautauqua County.
The winner from the county competition will go on to compete against other counties in Western New York and hopefully onto the State-wide completion.
