ASHVILLE – The issue of dredging Chautauqua Lake was discussed in Ashville last night by a firm hired to look for ways to reduce weeds and improve the health of the lake. According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, 35 people showed up to the BOCES in Ashville on Monday to participate in a public information session hosted by EcoLogic LLC, the consultants contracted to complete a dredging feasibility project for the lake. Officials with the group said that dredging the lake will reduce sediment build up, which would help reduce vegetation and algae by taking away the nutrients that feed them. Several issues and topics were covered, although the specific cost couldn’t yet be calculated. For more information, visit www.ecologicllc.com.
