MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson tells WRFA that a Chautauqua County grand jury will determine whether there is enough evidence to bring charges against the Sherman man who shot and killed his neighbor while hunting.
Swanson told WRFA in an email Monday the case against 34-year-old Thomas Jadlowski will go before a grand jury either this week or next week in Mayville.
The Post-Journal is reporting that Swanson will seek an indictment of second-degree manslaughter, a C felony, or criminally negligent homicide, an E felony, when he presents the case.
Jadlowski reportedly shot 43-year-old Rosemary Billquist while walking she was out walking her two dogs after sunset on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
Jadlowski told sheriff’s deputies he thought he saw a deer when he fired a single shot from a pistol. The incident reportedly took place after the legal time allowed to hunt deer.
