CARROLL – A Jamestown woman faces charges after she was involved in an automobile crash in the Town of Carroll that led to her 3-year-old daughter being sent to the hospital.
Sheriff Deputies say the crash took place at about 2 p.m. Tuesday on Falconer-Frewsburg Rd. An investigation found the driver, 23 year-old Brittany Smith, was distracted by using an electronic device, causing her vehicle to leave the east side of the roadway and overturn onto its roof.
Smith’s daughter was transported to UPMC WCA Chautauqua for non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation also showed that Smith was driving on a suspended drivers’ license. She was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While on an Electronic Device and also driving with a suspended license.
