The investigation continues today into a two-car accident on I-86 that claimed the life of an Ohio man.
According to a published report, the accident took place Sunday afternoon just before 4 p.m. Police say 57 year old Thomas Erickson, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, was traveling west on i-86 in the town of North Harmony when his vehicle drifted into the median and onto the eastbound lane of traffic. The vehicle then struck a jeep driven by Barbara Kubiak of Bradford, Pa.
Erickson was taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown, where he was pronounced dead. Kubiak was flown by helicopter to Hamot Hospital in Erie.
In addition to State police and the county sheriff’s office, the Ashville Fire Department, Bemus Point Fire Department, Sherman Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance all responded to the scene.
