JAMESTOWN – The 1984 slasher movie classic, A Nightmare on Elm Street, shows Wednesday, October 14 at 7 p.m. at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts. Admission is $5. It features future movie star, Johnny Depp and was directed by the late film director, Wes Craven (Scream, Last House on the Left).
In A Nightmare on Elm Street, several Midwestern teenagers fall prey to Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), a disfigured midnight mangler who preys on the teenagers in their dreams — which, in turn, kills them in reality. After investigating the phenomenon, Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) begins to suspect that a dark secret kept by her and her friends’ parents may be the key to unraveling the mystery, but can Nancy and her boyfriend Glen (Depp) solve the puzzle before it’s too late? A Nightmare on Elm Street is rated R and is 91 minutes long.
A Nights of the Living Reg series featuring movie classics runs through October including: The Shining (10/21 at 7pm), Friday the 13th (10/28 at 7pm) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (10/30 at 10pm).
