JAMESTOWN – The James Prendergast Library has a new executive director in place. The library’s Board of Trustees appointed Tina Scott as Executive Director during its regular monthly board meeting last week.
Scott has served as Acting Director of the Prendergast library and the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library system since last September. Earlier this year, both the Prendergast board and the library system board decided to split the executive director position. For the past several decades, one executive director position had assumed to role of overseeing both organizations. The library system is still in the process of finding a person to fill the position.
A graduate of the University of Buffalo, Scott earned her Masters of Library & Information Science in 2000. She has served as the Prendergast library Assistant Director from 2008 to 2012, and prior to that was the Systems Administrator at the Portsmouth Public Library in Virginia.
