MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Legislature will be meeting this week in Mayville and while the biggest issues will be the sale of the Chautauqua County Home and a new contract for Sheriff Deputies, there will also be a resolution on the table that will have an impact on the Chautauqua County Airport.
On Wednesday night lawmakers will act on a resolution to change the name of the runways and surrounding facilities of the airport to “The Greater Chautauqua-Jamestown Airport Robert H. Jackson Field.” The name-change would be to honor the late Robert H. Jackson, who got his start practicing law in Jamestown and went on to become a supreme court justice and chief prosecutor of the Nuremburg War Crimes trial.
